Marjorie Boothe Edwards was born in Gloucester, Virginia on August 19, 1911 to the union of Joseph and Sarah Boothe.   She married the late William Earl Edwards Sr. also of Gloucester, Virginia.  She and her family moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and in 1951 relocated to her current residence at 818 Putnam Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.  Margie is the mother of nine, grandmother of twenty-eight, great-grandmother of twenty-four and great-great-grandmother of four.

At her home at 818 there is always a welcome smile for all who stop by.  Her motto is "If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain."  She continues to pass on her wisdom and advice to those who ask.  She always lends a listening ear, and is more than willing to help those in need.

Margie has always followed Christian principles, joining Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church when she first arrived in New York.  She was later a member of Janes Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the Senior Choir.  After deciding to return to "her Baptist roots", she moved to Universal Baptist Church, joined the choir and was ordained as a Deaconess.  Currently, she is an active member of Hebron Baptist Church in Brooklyn where she is a member of the Deaconess Board and the Mother of the Church as she is the oldest member.

We love you Margie, Mother, Nana, Aunt Margie, Cousin Margie!
